Bramley Apple Patio Fruit Tree Bare Root 1.2m Tall

Considered 'The King Of Cooking Apples' by respected chefs and professional fruit growers, 'Bramley' was raised from a single seed planted by Mary Ann Brailsford in 1809. Since then it has gone on to become the worlds best known and favourite cooking apple, standing the test of time through over 200 years! It is considered supreme because its fruits have the perfect acidic flavour required for use in the kitchen and the almost pure-white flesh becomes incredibly light and fluffy when cooked. 'Bramley' is an incredibly heavy cropper once established with high quality fruits that will store through the winter months pick them in early October (before they get over-ripe) and store cold but frost free for use until January. Our grower quality multi-branched bare-root trees have been grafted on to a dwarfing rootstock to provide a compact and manageable habit which in this case will reach about 2m (6-7 ft) tall. It is best to grow 'Bramley' alongside another apple variety such as 'Braeburn' for best fruit set, as 'Bramley' is not self-fertile.   'The Bramley Apple bought earlier this year had masses of bloom which made an attractive feature in the botttom of the garden and after a little fruit drop my father and I had 3 decent size bramley apples which had a very good flavour. They went down very well with a home made pie (1 apple) and baked apple and I would certainly recommend the following recipe: Take a generous handful of sultanas and soak overnight in Whisky with a dash of cloves added. Take the apples and core them, also make a cut just through the skin around the circumference to prevent the apples splitting, place on an Ovenproof Dish.Stuff the core cavity with the sultanas and then add sugar to the remaining spirit to make a thick syrup (consistency of Honey) and drizzle over the top of the apples. Then bake at 180 degrees for about 35-40 mins and then serve up with Cream or Ice Cream and enjoy the fruits of the garden! Robert, Middlesex - October 2014

Patio Peach tree 'Crimson' (R) bare root tree 70cm

A simply stunning Patio Peach tree, 'Crimson (R) Bonfire' has been selected for it's unique and delightful burgundy purple foliage and red coloured peach fruits, all on a genetically dwarf tree too. Imagine relaxing on your patio in early Summer - the last of the heavenly sweet scent of Mediterranean peach blossom filling the air. Then in late August, reaching out and plucking one of your very own delicious, juicy ripe peaches! This stunning compact peach tree is so easy to grow, perfect in a pot and because it flowers later than many varieties it fruits much more successfully too. A beautifully symmetrical shaped tree, its foliage has a delightfully rich burgundy colouration. Combined with the crimson peaches it makes a particularly exotic and decorative addition to any patio. Completely winter hardy no matter how cold it gets, you can look forward to your very own harvest of home-grown peaches for years to come. TOP TIP: Peach fruit yield will be increased by keeping the fruit tree canopy dry in blossom and pollination time, such as in a greenhouse, conservatory or lean-to. Although self-fertile, using a dry small artist's paintbrush to brush pollen from flower to flower will hugely increase fruit set too. This will massively reduce the curse of Peach Leaf Curl too. Patio Peach 'Crimson (R) Bonfire' really is a delightful little tree, for years and years of enjoyment.

Apricot Tomcot tree 4.5L 1M talll

The Cot series of Apricot trees have taken the commercial fruit and gardening World by storm in the last 5 or so years, bringing exceptional crop yields and fruit quality. 'Tomcot' is one of the best for the UK climate, suited to our colder climates, where we get less accumulated sunshine, yet we get plenty of Winter chill to set buds. One of the key reasons it works well over here is it is late flowering, so avoids the late frosts that can afflict other Apricots. Yet, it catches up and still yields heavy crops of juicy, deepest orange fruits in the UK - perfect eaten when warmed by the sun straight off the tree, or for cooking and jam making. The tree is grafted onto Montclair rootstock, a new dwarfing type keeping it short and manageable. To cap it all, 'Tomcot; is even self-fertile, so does not need a partner to produce heavy crops. You will get crops in 2 years of planting, this is a great opportunity to buy a tree of the size normally available only to commercial plantations. 'Tomcot' really will deliver big crops of fresh Apricots here in the UK.

Mirabelle de Nancy Plum Patio Fruit Tree in a 5L Pot 1.2m Tall

The Mirabelle is a cherry plum, a distinct fruit, and not a hybrid of the two. It produces masses of golden fruits, with a gorgeous yellow flesh, and a sweet, very juicy distinctive peach-like taste, and small stone. It tastes good fresh, but is also fabulous for cooking and baking with. Popular in France, Mirabelles make a great addition to the fruit garden. They do flower early, so can be prone to early frosts, so plant in a sheltered sunny spot if possible - but they fruit early too in high summer into September. Grown on 'Pixy' rootstock, they retain a more upright habit, making this ideal for smaller gardens - it will top out at 9-10ft in 10 years time, and make for easy picking. They are self-fertile too. Try one! The taste of Mirabelles is never forgotten.

Sibley's Patio Medlar Fruit Tree in a 2L Pot 60cm Tall

'Patio' Medlar, introduced by the Romans, now centuries later, available in 'Ultra-Compact Patio Form' for you to grow! We've unearthed something really different for you here - usually the preserve of stately homes and seen as large, shapely trees, you can now have your own perfectly compact example BUT you will still pick a bumper crop or 'Medlars' each autumn. Possibly the perfect patio fruit tree for the smaller garden, it will form a perfect dome shape that will flower in spring and form unusual looking fruits that develop throughout the summer. Within a couple of seasons you should get 30 or so Medlars each autumn. The fruits will ripen once picked and become soft - the ripening process is referred to as 'Bletting'. Once fully ripe in mid-late autumn, the soft, sweet flesh can be eaten as is or made in to a jelly preserve - it makes the perfect accompaniment to savoury dishes and goes brilliantly with cheese. It's breeder, renowned British fruit grower and 'Grafter' William Sibley, has been working on new and novel compact fruit trees for the British home gardener for decades, and claims that this is one of his best discoveries. Medlars have been somewhat overlooked in the rush to grow fruit in the home garden. Yet their most unusual looking fruit make great jellies, jams, and sauces, and they have the most beautiful pure-white spring blossom and attractive leathery green leaves in summer too. Hardy and self-fertile, it really is an easy winner. This naturally compact beauty has been grafted onto a very dwarfing Pear rootstock, so it will stay very manageable in size for many years. It will look fabulous in a pot on your patio or terrace, but will be equally at home planted in to your garden soil in a sunny spot too.
